pull shapes

so i drew this little diddy from a friends idea:

and i thought okay, cute concept, BUT it's executed really sloppily. so i decided to try something i never tried for whatever reason, and instead turn penny into a shape...

i think i want to do this more often, it 1) was a real challenge trying to keep in mind "good shapes" 2) it makes drawing characters so much easier 3) it's pretty vital and i dont trust my skills at it :p
