this was kinda hastily put together but this is how i do vilppu style spherical studies. i get my stock photos from tumblr or in this case a DA stock account
oh i get what you mean, this is how my mind sort of thinks when it comes to rendering form- i put in the darkest tone then use the lighter side of the value scale to "pull" the form forward. so what youre saying is do something like this:
When you get into the tone stage be sure to pay attention to push/pull of your tones and lines.

Push/Pull is how the tones/lines push and pull on the forms in their space. It causes the forms to pop out against each other.
ReplyDeleteImagine the whites pulling the mass outward and the shades pushing the form inwards if that makes sense lol.

least i think thats what youre getting at? using the brush strokes to define the contour sort of thing?
