figuring out from photos

i wasnt happy with my last study, because with volumentric studies they sorta look like michelin tube men and it's hard to learn anatomy from that. plus, gesturing/volumizing that folded leg was giving me a lot of trouble



I THINK sometimes a photo wont really provide enough information to do a proper study from (not to blame the photo) but it's really difficult for me to figure out the under-structure of stuff when it's being overlapped or foreshortened :( i reckon i need to brush up on some leg/pelvis anatomy. its funny how doing the disney studies which are just "cartoons" brought into light anatomy issues i have that i never noticed doing regular figure draws...
